Halifast Athletics Sends 19 to National Competitions
There isn’t a much better time to show the strength of a club than in a year where two major provincial teams are sent to national competitions. This summer, Athletics Nova Scotia will send 50, U23 athletes to Winnipeg, Manitoba to compete against the other provinces at the 50th Canada Games, while 38, U18 athletes will travel to Brandon, Manitoba to compete at Legion Nationals.
Canada Summer Games is a two week competition involving many different summer sports that happens every four years, and alternates every two years with the Winter Games, much like the Olympics. Our athletes will be there for the first week of competition starting August 1st. Halifast is sending 13 of 50 possible athletes to Winnipeg!
Legion Nationals is a competition that happens every summer that showcases the best high school age track and field athletes that each province has to offer. This year, 6 athletes from our club will be representing Nova Scotia at this high level competition!
